Stress is a non-specific risk factor for multiple psychiatric disorders. It is most
frequently associated with increased rates of depression, conduct disorder, antisocial
personality disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and alcohol and substance abuse
disorders (

). Emerging data, however, suggests the negative effects associated with stress are
